It’s the end of February, we’re approaching spring and the weather is confusing. Not sure how to pull an outfit together when the weather gods can’t seem to make up their mind? Creative layering is the answer you’re looking for.
Your base layer is your best friend. A black roll neck jumper like this Ralph Lauren one that Charlotte (on the right) wears is perfect. Not only does it look great under anything, but the tight long sleeve is the key to staying warm in these chilly temperatures. Alternatively, grab a staple white shirt like Naz (left) and tie it at the front to divide the outfit up. The everyday button-down white shirt adds a simple but sophisticated element to the outfit.
Once your base layer is established you can get creative! Combine different lengths, textures and colours for the ultimate seasonal transition outfit. If you retired your dresses for winter, then you better dig them out and pair with jeans or trousers to add an alternative dimension to the outfit.
Over-sized blazers are a great way to add some structure and shape, double up to create an even more interesting silhouette. For extra warmth, add a long jacket. Still not enough layers? Throw on a scarf and maybe some sunnies for when the sun decides to make an appearance.
Stick to a simple colour scheme to keep the outfit streamlined, or add one pop of colour like these orange 70’s trousers that Naz wears. Avoid piling on your entire wardrobe - you're not Joey from Friends - and you’re ready to go!
